Jeanne Erikson is a dynamic coach, coach trainer, and coaching leader. Trained as a coach in 2002, her rich background of over thirty-years experience in human development and mental health, education, and conflict resolution, makes her a resource for other coaches. She continues to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and credentialed mediator, in addition to a Professional Certified Coach and Wellness Coaching specialist.
She has inspired and coached leaders of business and not-for-profit organizations and public policy groups, as well as individual entrepreneurs and professionals. She provides self-care workshops for professional associations and work teams. She teaches coach ethics, how to coach clients with conflicts, client screening for coaches, and about the Coaching Continuum TM. for several coaching schools. In collaboration with Dr. Manon Dulude, Jeanne has developed a training program for coaches. It assists them to determine the coaching capacity of a prospective client so that client can more likely thrive.
Dr. Erikson has a Master of Science degree in human development; she began her career teaching college child psychology and adult development courses. Her PhD dissertation research in conflict resolution allowed her to develop theory about the causes of impasse, become a national expert, and train over 400 lawyers and therapists to be professional mediators. She has personally provided mediation or arbitration services for over 5500 cases. She has also developed courses and taught in two United States social work graduate schools. Finally, from 2006 to 2012 she was the IUPS Faculty Advisor supervising individual studies and dissertation research for two coaching PhD students. Those studies were on coach actions maximizing client change, and use of brief solution-focused coaching with workplace clients.
Dr. Erikson continues to contribute to the field of coaching. She helped begin the Heartland Coaches association in the U.S. Midwest, and served on the International Coach Federation Ethics and Standards committee for six years. As the Chairperson, she led an International team to create the 2008 revision of the Ethics and Standards Code. She was also chosen to help plan the Las Vegas 2011 International ICF conference.
